Top Things Thursday

Let's kick off today by listing our top 5 favorite websites.

1. www.theepicdelve.com (obviously!)
2. www.precentral.net
3. www.engadget.com
4. www.facebook.com
5. www.thedigitalset.com

1. My favorite blogging website!
2. It's a website about webOS and Palm news. There's also forums where people discuss development of apps and patching and homebrew apps, which is essentially like jailbreaking an iPod touch.
3. Engadget has the latest news for tech stuff.
4. Social networking at it's finest.
5. A gaming/machinima forum where I've been for years.

What're yours?

This is a ship.

It's okay though.. it's made to sink. This ship is used to study the sea and currents. Basically a large research vessel that is shaped like a large platform. When the scientists need to start their study, they flood the front and it sinks like the Titanic.

Check out the video to see it in action.

This is the coolest building you will see in your life. This building is the UK Pavillion located at the Shanghai 2010 World Expo. It looks furry because it's actually made up of 60,000 fiber optic cables. This allows light to seep into the interior and create an eerie glow.

The real beauty of this building is that on the inside of the fiber optic cables, there are seeds from thousands of plants. Click here to see the full gallery

Girlfriend killed by lightning right before proposal

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Knoxville man was minutes from proposing to his girlfriend on a hike in Western North Carolina Friday when she was struck and killed by lightning...

PERSONAL THOUGHTS: I can't imagine the pain the guy must have gone through, emotionally and physically. This really sucks, but honestly, it's not terrible smart to hike in the middle of a thunderstorm. You should be able to tell if a storm is close to you or not, and if it's close to you, you don't need to be hiking on a mountain with trees around you. Either way, I feel pretty bad for this guy =/ I can't imagine what he's feeling.

Lightbot 2.0

Today I'll be reviewing a game called Lightbot 2.0

This is the second installment of the series. In this game, you actually don't directly control anything. Instead, you input commands in a click & drag format and press RUN, you then see your tiny little robot follow your commands and complete the task.

The goal of each level is to light up the blue squares. You do this by entering the "light" command after guiding your robot to the goal.

Concept-Program a robot to walk, jump, teleport and complete other tasks in order to light up the blue squares.  Kind of like the old arcade game "Q-Bert"

Gameplay- 8.9/10  The gameplay is pretty straight forward. The only complaint I have here is that it's hard to figure out which way you need to make him turn, not because you don't know, but because the perspective is the same no matter which way he turns.

Graphics- 8.5/10  Nothing spectacular, but that graphics that are there work well. Again, the complaint is the design of the "Turn" buttons.

Audio- 9.3/10  The background music is actually pretty catchy. It's not something that will get stuck in your head, but it's a nice addition. There's not really any sound effects, so the game can see kind of dull.

Replay Value- Moderate
